Theme Paragraphs

8/15:
Review the sample concrete details and commentary. Revise your own to strengthen them.
Review the transitions on pages 38, 39, and 49 in the handbook. Add appropriate transition words into your paragraph.
Review essay terminology on page 19 of your handbook.

Handout for concrete details and commentary (definitions of these can be found on page 19 of handbook). For this handout, you need to integrate, quote, and cite two examples from The Other Wes Moore and two examples from The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Then, write 2-3 sentences of commentary (analysis and evaluation) for each quote.
